Our mission – your comfort
Since glerups began, the overall mission has been to bring comfort and support to the wearers of our footwear. This has made us work hard to find all the right materials for creating our footwear in a way that is both satisfying when wearing them, but also has an eye on how to make them in a way that doesn’t have a negative impact on either the environment, the animals that produce our wool or anything else for that matter. This also means that when you wear a pair of glerups, you are making a statement – that you too care about ethical living.
The support your feet deserve
Our feet are sometimes neglected, in comparison to how big a task they have. Throughout our lifetime, they carry us everyday and are sometimes subjected to circumstances that are less desirable. Our feet need all the support they can get, whether it is a daily ritual of skin care with a lot of moisturizer or simply choosing footwear that supports the feet rather than demand more of them. Our house slippers are designed to help support your feet, whether you are doing small chores around the house, working in the office or simply just relaxing on the couch with a good book. The sturdy sole of natural leather combined with the grip the slippers have on your feet is an ideal way for your feet to relax while still carrying you around. Our slippers help the weight of the body to be distributed more evenly on the foot, supporting the arch of the foot and not putting any additional pressure on your heel. A wool blend like no other
We ended up using a unique wool blend for our footwear. It’s a mix of wool from Danish Gotland sheep and wool from New Zealand and it is packed with beneficial properties. Not only does it have a softness which is out of this world, the wool can help you elevate your time of leisure. As wool is known to do, it will keep your feet warm on cold days. but this blend also has the ability to keep your feet cool on warmer days. This is due to the fibers of the wool, which have the ability to absorb excess heat and moisture, even any odor that might occur is encapsulated and then released, when the slippers are given a rest, ideally somewhere in the fresh air. This is a part of the maintenance of the slippers, which if done correctly can make the lifespan of the slippers longer. Furthermore, these slippers can be worn, even if you are prone to sensitive skin. This is due to the fact that the fibers have a molecular structure close to that of human skin, meaning that even when worn for an extended period of time on feet with sensitive skin, they will not cause irritation.

We feel that glerups fit that definition perfectly. Our footwear has a simple design, you’ll find no faux fur lining or additional accessories – just a slipper designed for the comfort of your feet.
