Men’s supportive slippers

Get ready to unwind with the utmost of comfort. With men’s supportive slippers from glerups, you will experience a new level of leisure whenever you put them on. Made with adherence to traditional craftsmanship and a respect for the planet, these slippers are something special. Take a look at our selection here.

Put both your feet and mind at ease

With glerups supportive slippers, you can rest more than your feet. The sturdiness of the leather sole combined with the firm grip on your feet that these house shoes provide, you will feel an immense relaxation and comfort when wearing them. The structure of the house shoes helps your feet relax, but also has a positive impact on the rest of your body, for instance, it can be of great help to your posture, as the shoes make your feet have a better feeling with the surface underneath you. This gives you a natural boost in the way you carry yourself.

Even though the name house shoes implies that they are worn at home, we have heard many stories from people all over the world who wear them at work, to keep a higher level of comfort at the workplace.

Our wool blend makes all the difference

In the Northern part of Europe, where glerups has its origin, people have been using wool as a shield from the cold since the dawn of time. This practice is the foundation of glerups as well – using one of nature’s gifts to provide warmth and comfort. We have spent years refining our wool mix and landed on a blend of wool from Danish Gotland sheep and wool from New Zealand. This specific blend is packed with beneficial properties, making our footwear the greatest treat for your feet.

Not only does the wool have an extraordinary softness, it will help keep your feet comfortable no matter the circumstances. The wool has the ability to keep your feet warm on cold days, but due to the fibres in the wool, it can lead away the heat as well, making the house shoes perfect for wearing even on a warm day without the feet getting overheated. The wool can absorb any excess heat, moisture or even odour that might otherwise be of nuisance. When the shoes are given a rest, ideally somewhere in the fresh air, everything is released again and the shoes feel as good as new.

The fibres of the wool have a molecular structure with a close resemblance to that of human skin, making the house comfortable even for those with sensitive skin and even when worn for longer periods of time.

Danish design tradition upheld

As mentioned earlier, using wool as a means to stay warm is nothing new in the Northern part of Europe. But other than that, glerups adheres to Danish design tradition as it has been unfolding for generations. There is a popular simplistic way to make something qualify as Danish design – other than the obvious being that the design is from Denmark.

There are three principles that the product must adhere to – simplicity, functionality and elegance. We believe that glerups fits this description perfectly. Our house shoes are simple in their design, with no faux fur lining or fancy accessories. Their functionality is found in the way that you can use them for many different occasions and wear them all year round.

Lastly, their elegance is expressed in the subtleness of the design, which makes them an easy fit into any wardrobe. The colours are inspired by Nordic nature and exude a sense of calm, with the earthy colours that sets the eye at ease. Their durability also aligns with the Danish design philosophy, as they can last longer than ordinary slippers, if maintained well. For more on how to do so, read our careguide found here.
